Luke 9:23 The Passion "Jesus said to all of His followers, if you truly desire to be my diciple, you must disown your life completely, embrace My cross as your own and surrender to My ways." This embracing His cross means; being willing to suffer & die for Christ just as He did for all of us! When our will crosses His will, we will have power to "embrace His cross." We have within us "the power of choice." At times we may not feel like worshipping the Lord, even praying or praising Him. But during these times our overcoming spirit makes the choice to give Him our sacrifice of praise, our best worship. Usually after this act of obedience that our Lord will pour out His grace on us and overflow of blessings will come. In this season I believe "Refiners Fire" is bringing us into a even more intimate relationship with Him, so that our will becomes His will. We become a reflection of His life & purporse. We will do as He would do! Revelation 2:17 speaks of overcoming, to eat from the hidden manna, be given a new stone so that as we look at our lives we will be satisfied as we enter into our eternal relationship of communion & fellowship with Jesus!
Exodus 34:6 And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, "The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering , and abounding in goodness and truth... In this verse IS the disposition of Messiah. The early church used this important verse to judge prophecy and conduct in the church atmosphere. There were three elders who were in charge of hearing and deciding if what was said and done in that time was in the disposition of Messiah. In this very shaky and explosive time we are living in (exciting & wonderful time I might add) it would serve us well if we would write this verse on the tablet of our heart and in every circumstance, situation we find ourselves apply it rightly and justly. By doing this, we, as the body of Christ, will start looking like the "church" the public has never seen!!!
