"My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the source of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water." (Jeremiah 2:13) When you are thirsty, you look for something to satisfy that thirst. The best thing is cool clear water, the most satisfying to our body. However Jeremiah is talking of the living water we need to revive our dry & weary soul! In John 4 we read of the Samaritan woman drawing water from the well. We also see Yeshua, the source of living water, standing beside the well. She can get the water to physically quench her thirst but she has a thirsty soul and a dry heart... that the water from that well cannot help. Yeshua's words touched the parched areas of her life and she opened up to receive His Living Water! Jesus has many names, but the one in Jeremiah is "the source of living water." We as believers who carry the Spirit of God in us must walk in the Kingdom reality that many we come across have dry & weary hearts and need to draw from the true source of living water...Yeshua! Who is in us, Our Savior & King, The first & last, The One who was and is and is to come! Amen
Exodus 34:6 And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, "The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering , and abounding in goodness and truth... In this verse IS the disposition of Messiah. The early church used this important verse to judge prophecy and conduct in the church atmosphere. There were three elders who were in charge of hearing and deciding if what was said and done in that time was in the disposition of Messiah. In this very shaky and explosive time we are living in (exciting & wonderful time I might add) it would serve us well if we would write this verse on the tablet of our heart and in every circumstance, situation we find ourselves apply it rightly and justly. By doing this, we, as the body of Christ, will start looking like the "church" the public has never seen!!!
