Jesus ate the Passover meal with His disciples, saying He had eagerly desired to eat this Passover meal with them before He suffered...saying He would not eat again "until the Kingdom of God comes. (Luke 22:7-16) They sang part of Psalm 118:22, ..."Jesus is the capstone that the builders rejected" Jesus was crucified as the "Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world" (John 1:29) Communion is remembering of His sacrifice as the perfect Passover Lamb and the fulfilling of the new covenant between God & man. (Ephesians 2:11-13) Unleavened bread is a symbol of Passover. Leaven represents sin. (Luke 12:1) The picture of Jesus is the bread or matzah meaning without sin. Jesus said He was the bread which comes down from heaven, The Living Bread! All of the feasts of the Lord are shadows of things to come. (Colossians 2:17) Be ready for time is short and HE IS COMING...AGAIN!!!
Exodus 34:6 And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, "The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering , and abounding in goodness and truth... In this verse IS the disposition of Messiah. The early church used this important verse to judge prophecy and conduct in the church atmosphere. There were three elders who were in charge of hearing and deciding if what was said and done in that time was in the disposition of Messiah. In this very shaky and explosive time we are living in (exciting & wonderful time I might add) it would serve us well if we would write this verse on the tablet of our heart and in every circumstance, situation we find ourselves apply it rightly and justly. By doing this, we, as the body of Christ, will start looking like the "church" the public has never seen!!!
