As we enter the days of awe, (the ten days between Rosh Hashanah & Day of Atonement) I believe it's a time of turnaround. A time to transition from things as they are to things as they should be. A time to make amends to those you have wronged and to seek forgiveness! Rosh Hashanah is also known as Yom Teruah which means to shout or make a loud noise. In the Jewish culture, this holy day begins with the blowing of the shofar or rams horn. The new year 5779 is a year of transition or change, a time of NOW! Let's forgive one another! Let's change from things as usual to things becoming blessed beyond measure or understanding. The word in all of this is "make this day one instead of one day! "THE TIME IS NOW" GENESIS 50:20 "But as for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to make happen, as it IS this day..."...NOW ...DAY ONE!
Exodus 34:6 And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, "The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering , and abounding in goodness and truth... In this verse IS the disposition of Messiah. The early church used this important verse to judge prophecy and conduct in the church atmosphere. There were three elders who were in charge of hearing and deciding if what was said and done in that time was in the disposition of Messiah. In this very shaky and explosive time we are living in (exciting & wonderful time I might add) it would serve us well if we would write this verse on the tablet of our heart and in every circumstance, situation we find ourselves apply it rightly and justly. By doing this, we, as the body of Christ, will start looking like the "church" the public has never seen!!!
