In 1 Corinthians 10:13 It declares that hardships & trials come into our lives, not to break us, but to build & strengthen us that we might persevere and to overcome! Our time on earth is a "security deposit" for the glorious life to come! James 1:12 declares "Blessed is the man who ENDURES temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him". The scripture, 1 Corinthians 4:1-2 states we are commissioned to be God's servants on earth. As His stewards, we are to be found faithful, persevering and presenting God's Kingdom...knowing we are only visitors on this earth! We are expected to be loyal to His call as His deposit on this earth. May we hear these words from our Lord & King, "Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord". (Matthew 25:23).
Exodus 34:6 And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, "The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering , and abounding in goodness and truth... In this verse IS the disposition of Messiah. The early church used this important verse to judge prophecy and conduct in the church atmosphere. There were three elders who were in charge of hearing and deciding if what was said and done in that time was in the disposition of Messiah. In this very shaky and explosive time we are living in (exciting & wonderful time I might add) it would serve us well if we would write this verse on the tablet of our heart and in every circumstance, situation we find ourselves apply it rightly and justly. By doing this, we, as the body of Christ, will start looking like the "church" the public has never seen!!!
