In the passage of scripture that Luke described in chapter 14 as the "Great Supper", verse 15 says that one who heard what Jesus was teaching said "Someday God will have a kingdom feast and how blessed will be the ones who get to eat the best bread of the kingdom." This one was assuming the kingdom of God was coming one day, but what Jesus was teaching through this parable... that it had already begun with the invitation to come to Him, the King. In the rest of this passage it says a man invited many to come to a great supper he had prepared, just the same as the Lord invites us to come to His feast of life. Provision and our destiny can be found there, along with vision and strength. Even though they were invited, when everything was ready, all found excuses not to come. Some just didn't want to go, some I believe thought they were supposed to bring something to the party but felt embarrassed because of lack and declined the invitation. ...
