During the "Feast of Tabernacles" as described in the Gospel of John chapter seven verse thirty seven, my thoughts focused on Holy Spirit and what was really going on at this feast. In the last day of the feast, the most important day,(which was the eighth day and Sabbath by the way)Why was this so important for us to see? Holy Spirit impressed in me that when man's feasting is over there is still thirst. Yeshua comes at the last day of the feast to satisfy the thirst of those who seek God. Only the Lord Jesus Christ can quench the spiritual thirst of men by giving them His living water! Yeshua stood and shouted into the crowds gathering, "All you thirsty ones, come to me! Come to me and drink! (v 38) Believe in me, so that rivers of living water will burst from you; flowing from your innermost being, just like the Scripture says!" (From Ezekiel 47:1 and from Revelation 22:1) Rivers of living water will flow from his throne within and where a drink becomes a river! Verse 39 says "And He prophesied this about the Spirit, which those who believed in Him were about to take, for the Spirit was not yet poured out, because Yeshua was not yet unveiled in His full Splendor." Now get this...this splendor included the splendor of the cross, the splendor of His resurrection, and the glory of His ascension into heaven! Just as water poured from the rock that was struck by Moses, so from His pierced side living water poured out to heal, save, and bring life to all who believes. Holy Spirit was poured out of Christ and into us at Pentecost! WOW... What a Savior, What a King!
Exodus 34:6 And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, "The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering , and abounding in goodness and truth... In this verse IS the disposition of Messiah. The early church used this important verse to judge prophecy and conduct in the church atmosphere. There were three elders who were in charge of hearing and deciding if what was said and done in that time was in the disposition of Messiah. In this very shaky and explosive time we are living in (exciting & wonderful time I might add) it would serve us well if we would write this verse on the tablet of our heart and in every circumstance, situation we find ourselves apply it rightly and justly. By doing this, we, as the body of Christ, will start looking like the "church" the public has never seen!!!
