"Whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock..." Matthew 7:24. This verse says whoever hears these sayings and then does them are survivors! Obedience, which is doing the truth, may be the the most important rule for building a storm proof life. Not a storm free life, but a storm proof life! "The evidence of knowing God is obeying God" has been spoken over and over in our lives. In James 1:22 it says "But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves..." The gospel is simple to understand; Listen to the truth and do it! What are some applications we can implement to become obedient and doers of truth? GIVE...FORGIVE...RESIST TEMPTATION...TURN THE OTHER CHEEK...DENY YOURSELF...LOVE GOD AND LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF...GO AND PREACH THE GOSPEL... Lord show me today what I have been hearing You say but have chosen not to do.
Exodus 34:6 And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, "The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering , and abounding in goodness and truth... In this verse IS the disposition of Messiah. The early church used this important verse to judge prophecy and conduct in the church atmosphere. There were three elders who were in charge of hearing and deciding if what was said and done in that time was in the disposition of Messiah. In this very shaky and explosive time we are living in (exciting & wonderful time I might add) it would serve us well if we would write this verse on the tablet of our heart and in every circumstance, situation we find ourselves apply it rightly and justly. By doing this, we, as the body of Christ, will start looking like the "church" the public has never seen!!!
