But He gives more grace. Therefore He says; "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble." James 4:6...God is looking for pure hearts, not perfect ones. From 2 Chronicles 29 & 30... When King Hezekiah took the throne, he decided that he wanted to seek after the true God. He announced that he wanted the whole nation to keep the Passover. Those who heeded his request worked diligently to prepare the Temple and themselves to keep the Passover. Even with their tireless efforts, they were not ready on time and had to keep the feast in the second month instead of the first. Finally, the Temple was ready but some of the people were not. In a figure of Jesus our Intercessor, King Hezekiah prayed for those not totally prepared, and God healed them. In Communion, God's heart is for us to do the best we can. We are not supposed to take a bath to get clean enough to take a bath, but to come to God with a pure heart. He gives MUCH GRACE!!!
Exodus 34:6 And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, "The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering , and abounding in goodness and truth... In this verse IS the disposition of Messiah. The early church used this important verse to judge prophecy and conduct in the church atmosphere. There were three elders who were in charge of hearing and deciding if what was said and done in that time was in the disposition of Messiah. In this very shaky and explosive time we are living in (exciting & wonderful time I might add) it would serve us well if we would write this verse on the tablet of our heart and in every circumstance, situation we find ourselves apply it rightly and justly. By doing this, we, as the body of Christ, will start looking like the "church" the public has never seen!!!
