For all the promises of God in Him are yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. 2 Corinthians 1:20... God is of impeccable integrity. What He means He says and what He says He means. He is not a man that He should lie. You can trust Him at His word. He will do what He says will do! Our faith lies in the understanding of our covenant with God. That understanding is that it takes two parties and each of them must be faithful to do their part. The context of 2 Cor. 1:20 is that your yes is yes and that your no is no. This is good news to those in covenant with God. He will do what He says He will do, AND He will not do what He says He will not do. If God says He will not fulfill His covenant with those who don't walk after Him with their whole heart (2 Chron. 6:14), then He is just as reliable in that promise as when He says He will bless those who bless you. God gave us His Word on it!!! His promises are yes and amen. My personal thought on this is Holy Spirit is the yes and Jesus is the Amen...
Exodus 34:6 And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, "The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering , and abounding in goodness and truth... In this verse IS the disposition of Messiah. The early church used this important verse to judge prophecy and conduct in the church atmosphere. There were three elders who were in charge of hearing and deciding if what was said and done in that time was in the disposition of Messiah. In this very shaky and explosive time we are living in (exciting & wonderful time I might add) it would serve us well if we would write this verse on the tablet of our heart and in every circumstance, situation we find ourselves apply it rightly and justly. By doing this, we, as the body of Christ, will start looking like the "church" the public has never seen!!!
