These words are inscribed on most all communion tables in churches around the world. One of my childhood memories is staring at those word written on the table where the beautiful flower arrangements were centered. The table where the golden offering plates sat. Now it seems the table was for everything except communion.(once every month or so). But the words were still there to remind us to remember Him. We are surrounded by reminders in our day by day lives. We have our "to do list", our strings around the finger to remind us of important things in our lives. Fear surrounds those who forget their spouse's birthday or their anniversary! How much more should we remember what Jesus did on the cross for us as we take Communion and not to be part of some ritual? As we take the bread think about what His body looked like and the pain He took for Us. Think of the holes in His hands, feet, side and head. Think of the bruises and the stripes on His back.
