DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PEACE AND POWER

IN ACTS 1:4 JESUS COMMANDED THE APOSTLES NOT TO DEPART FROM JERUSALEM, BUT TO WAIT FOR THE PROMISE OF THE FATHER, VERSE 8 SAYS "BUT YOU SHALL RECEIVE POWER WHEN THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS COME UPON YOU; AND YOU WILL BE WITNESSES TO ME IN JERUSALEM, AND IN ALL JUDEA AND SAMARIA, AND TO THE END OF THE EARTH." I believe that power comes from a place of peace , rest and a willingness to become yielded to God. As I study scripture, the disciples were born again before Pentecost, and had a measure of the Holy Spirit. So they had peace of their sins forgiven and justification, but they still didn't have the infusion of power that was promised. I believe, as Charles Finney and many others, that people rest in conversion and do not keep seeking until they grab hold of the power from on high! So there is no power, with God or with man. While still clinging to a hope in Jesus Christ, they enter into teaching or into ministry. They are overlooking the waiting until clothed with the power f...

LOOK DEEPER

Let's take an honest look at ourselves and find out why we do what we do. Money decides how we dress to get the "perfect job". If we seek out certain people because of their connections and influence, then money decides who our friends are... If we work extra to maintain a lifestyle, then money is deciding how much time we spend with our family. If we go to church where the main emphasis is on prosperity and focus on me getting my needs met, then money & self are my motives, not what God is saying to the nations. We are living in an age that "the world" is rejecting the teachings of Jesus. Jesus says in Matthew 6:33 "Steep your life in God reality, God initiative, God provisions. Don't worry about missing out. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met,"(The Message) meanwhile the world is saying seek first financial security, and then you will have both time & money to give into the kingdom of God...Read what Jesus says i...

Key to defeat depression and discouragement

When discouraged and the spirit of depression starts to bring wrong thinking into our thought processes, we must stand strong and take those thoughts captive!!! One of the things I've learned in following the Lamb is this truth; praising God beats depression and discouragement. Isaiah 61:3 says "To CONSOLE those who mourn in Zion, To give them BEAUTY for ashes, The OIL OF JOY for mourning, The GARMENT OF PRAISE for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of RIGHTEOUSNESS, The planting of the LORD, that HE may be glorified." The glory will come when we praise HIM. Praising GOD is a weapon!!! Anyone can praise Him on the sunny days, even unbelievers can be happy on those days... But those who know Him for Who He is and not just for what He can do, can sing and dance in the rain...in the midst of the storm we WILL PRAISE OUR GOD!!!Praising God defeats depression, beats down discouragement every time. It is a valuable key and weapon...TRY IT YOU'LL LIKE IT...
