IN ACTS 1:4 JESUS COMMANDED THE APOSTLES NOT TO DEPART FROM JERUSALEM, BUT TO WAIT FOR THE PROMISE OF THE FATHER, VERSE 8 SAYS "BUT YOU SHALL RECEIVE POWER WHEN THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS COME UPON YOU; AND YOU WILL BE WITNESSES TO ME IN JERUSALEM, AND IN ALL JUDEA AND SAMARIA, AND TO THE END OF THE EARTH." I believe that power comes from a place of peace , rest and a willingness to become yielded to God. As I study scripture, the disciples were born again before Pentecost, and had a measure of the Holy Spirit. So they had peace of their sins forgiven and justification, but they still didn't have the infusion of power that was promised. I believe, as Charles Finney and many others, that people rest in conversion and do not keep seeking until they grab hold of the power from on high! So there is no power, with God or with man.
